The presence and availability of a reliable manufacturer and supplier are the foundation upon which Designer Door and Window has built its business. In fact, the Texas-based company attributes part of its recent growth to the commitment and support that have been provided by its suppliers, ProVia Premiere Fiberglass Doors.
“Quality is very important. We don’t want to install products just to turn around and go back to fix them,” said Steve Barron, owner of Designer Door and Window. “For us, it’s important to build quality partnerships with our manufacturers and do as little purchasing through a distribution network as possible. We prefer to go straight to the manufacturer with our buying power, and we’ve been able to develop some great relationships.”
According to Barron, both suppliers bring the same culture to their boardrooms and manufacturing plants. “Like us, they put the customer first,” said Barron. “Our number one goal is to serve the customer to the best of our ability and make it right. And it’s very important to unite those cultures.”
Both suppliers established their relationship with Designer Door through different paths. Barron said the “courting process” during which both companies examine each other carefully took about 18 months. “At that point, we realized this was a great partnership, and we have been growing in leaps and bounds each year. This year we reached a sales volume milestone with ProVia. It was an extreme challenge but one that our team committed to achieve.”
ProVia
ProVia, a company with locations in Ohio and Mississippi, manufactures top of the line doors for entryways, patios, and storm doors. “The customer knows what quality is, and when they see the ProVia products in our showroom, it’s a no brainer — they sell themselves,” Barron added. “All we do is ask the appropriate questions to make sure this is what the client really wants, and we make sure that we educate the customer about the pros and cons. We want to be up front. We believe in NO SURPRISES.”
ProVia has fulfilled their commitments to Designer Door and Window, and vice versa. “Because of that, we are able to fulfill our commitments to our customers,” Barron concluded.
