It seems that we are finally getting our fabulous spring weather to stick here in North Texas. Time to throw back those curtains and enjoy! What can we do to add a little extra “Spring” to our lives? We can offer a few suggestions as to how to do so.
First and foremost, wash those windows! It may seem like a no-brainer, but often it is an overlooked task, yet yields remarkable results to last throughout the summer.
Be sure to open the windows and deep clean inside the jam and the interior trim, as well as the outside portion. The hand tool on your vacuum works for those crooks and crevices while the brush attachment can do wonders on your screens, as well.
Finish up with a damp rag for the sash and hardware, to add that extra touch. If you really don’t want to do the work yourself, there are plenty of window cleaning services that can be in and out in a matter of hours, for a nominal charge.
Consider updating your window treatments for brighter, lighter versions that won’t block the sunshine and allow for a fresh air flow to permeate your home’s interior.
Add pretty, natural types of outdoor features in your line of sight, such as flowering hanging baskets and bird feeders. Window sill flower boxes are another great option and the types of flowers may be changed out frequently as the months go by, keeping with the seasons.
Lastly, a pretty prism or sun catcher in a key window is eye-catching and throws a rainbow across your room occasionally, for an extra bright emphasis on the wonders of the natural world surrounding us.
Of course, if your current windows are in need of repair it might also be a good time to replace some or all of your windows at this time, too. Should that be the case, please let us provide you with a complimentary in-house consultation. We are happy to help in any way we can!
